Welcome to the 2021 Water Wizards Season
It's so good to be writing about the upcoming season - Hope y'all are ready!! We will primarily communicate through SwimTopia about upcoming events and news.
The current weather forecast doesn't look great for the weekend at the pool, but our Head Coach, Fred Zamon, will be at Kings Ridge from 12 - 2 pm on Saturday so come on out and meet him. Team Reps will also be around to answer any questions you may have, as well.
Practice starts in 6 days! 13-18 year olds: 3:30 - 4:30 pm, 9-12 year olds: 4:30 - 5:15 pm, 8&unders: 5:15 - 6:00 pm. Mini Wizards will start when morning practices begin on June 14. Please make sure your swimmer has their suit, cap, goggles, fins and water bottle. The coach will let us know if they need anything else as we move forward. Please have your swimmer arrive 10 minutes before practice so they can be ready to go.
Team suits can be purchased at Suit Up Water Sports at University Mall. They are carrying our suits there, so you can go anytime. Your swimmer does not need to wear the team suit to practice, but should at all swim meets.
You can still purchase spirit wear through Suit Up. The store will remain open until June 2. We will have the items delivered to practice before the first meet. https://kingsridge2021.itemorder.com/
Time Trials will be June 12 at 9 am at Kings Ridge. The swimmers will get timed in all the strokes they can legally swim to help the coach determine who swims in the meets on Saturday mornings. The full meet schedule is on the website. waterwizards.swimtopia.com.
We are in constant flux about covid restrictions (like every other establishment), so we will communicate exactly what will happen on deck, in the water and at meets when we get all the details this weekend - from the governor and the NVSL. We are looking forward to a relative return to normal (as much as possible)!
Officials training has started. All training is done virtually this year, please go to our website or mynvsl.com to register if you plan on working on deck this summer. Timers do not require training. Meet Day Sign Ups for volunteers will start soon.
Besides the multiple emails that you will receive, you will also have a mailbox at the pool. Swimmer's ribbons earned at meets are distributed this way. We will show you where and generally the swimmers know to check the day after a meet.
Thank you for reading to the end. Please remember that most information can be found on the website. The Team Handbook explains most things! If you can't find what you're looking for, please ask the Team Reps: Kris Bondanella and Stacy Dolfis - they're pretty cool...
See you at The Ridge,
