KRSC June 19th - 25th 2019 Newsletter
Dear Kings Ridge Parents and Swimmers,
We started our competitive season this past Saturday with a strong meet against Truro with a final score of Truro 237 - Kings Ridge 178. Wow, what a meet! While we didn’t win, we really enjoyed watching your swimmers improve, cheer, and compete!
To help propel the team forward on Saturday, swimmers Annie Custis (50 Free, 50 Back), Brandon Henry (50 Free, 50 Fly), Katie Charbonneau (50 Free, 50 Fly), Garrison Cade (50 Back, 50 Fly), Emily Davis (50 Back, 50 Breast), and Chris Jones (50 Back, 25 Fly) swam big to win both of their individual events! Other swimmers who had great individual event wins include Morgan Little (25 Back), Lily Moericke (50 Back), Walker Clark (50 Back), Zoe Dolfis (50 Breast), Josiah Faber (50 Breast), Ginny Butler (25 Fly), and Cole Bondanella (50 Fly).
Against Truro our swimmers posted 69 time improvements in individual races! Notable time drops include Megan Close dropping 4.88 seconds in 50 Breast, Charlotte Crowley improving her 50 Breast time by 7.05 seconds, Quinlan Lebahn dropping 8.31 seconds in her 50 Breast, Rowan Little improving 4.71 seconds in 50 Breast, Ryan Oedemann dropping 14.07 seconds in 50 Breast, Robbie Sheipe dropping 4.80 in 50 Free, and Ciannae Yaee improving 9.08 seconds in 50 Free.
This past Monday we swam our first B meet with Lakeview. This meet alone we had a whopping 65 time improvements! Notable personal bests include Holden Riley dropping 6.57 seconds in 25 Free and 10.44 seconds in 25 Back, Mary Butler improving her 25 Back time by 18.13 seconds, Jacob Zenobia dropping 11.61 seconds in 25 Back, Matt Nguyen dropping 7.36 seconds in 50 Fly, Addison van Baars improving 6.38 seconds in 50 Free, Noah Klein dropping 5.01 in 50 Free, and Ryan Oedemann dropping 7.59 seconds in 50 Free.
After considering all the hard work our swimmers put into being good teammates, dropping time, and swimming well in practice, we chose six Wizards of the Week! We chose Liam Delap for his positive attitude and lane leadership, Henry Stockard for his focused goals and time improvements especially his 50 Breaststroke, Charlotte Crowley for her improvements in all four strokes and hard work in practice, Emily Close for working to swim legal breaststroke and butterfly as well as her time improvements in freestyle, and MacKenzie Achatz and Teddy Custis have each moved up two lanes since the beginning of the season and last night they swam in their first meet posting 26.34 and 27.57 in the 25 Free respectively. Congratulations to all our Wizards of the Week!

Finally, we want to say THANK YOU to all of our meet officials, table workers and parent volunteers! None of these meets would go on without volunteers and you are the reason our swimmers have an opportunity to race competitively!
So far we have a total of 134 time improvements this season! Go Water Wizards!
